Based on an article by Gregg Keizer - Computerworld (U.S.)

While Firefox downloads queue 4 is awesome, the chief executive of Mozilla, Mike Beltzner, said it was behind the numbers Firefox 3.6 launch in January 2010.
During the first three hours, will discharge an average of between 5,000 and 6,000 copies per
minute, less than half the rate of 12,000 per minute of the previous version.
When the new browser reached one million downloads, developers Mozilla and employees began ringing bells and applauding, as someone wearing a mascot costume Firefox, danced around the room.
Tuesday's launch marked the end of more than a year of development of Mozilla , which published the first version of "alpha" function in February 2010.
Firefox 4 was originally scheduled for release in November, but the failures and other delays forced to announce in October that the development would be completed early this year.
Mozilla Firefox 4 was the second major upgrade announced by the browser makers in just over a week. The March 14, Microsoft released the final version of Internet Explorer 9 (IE9).
Firefox 4 has a new manager tabs, called "Panorama", has with a revised interface that is similar to Chrome's minimalist design, and supports GPU acceleration to speed up page loading.
acceleration hardware has become a point of contention between Mozilla and Microsoft. IE9 latter has been promoted as the only browser that speeds up Web platform fully complete, while Mozilla has criticized his rival for the abandonment of Windows XP users. IE9 only runs on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
